Chief Science Officer at Owlstone Medical

Max is the Chief Science Officer at Owlstone Medical and has over 15 years experience in the development of trace chemical detection technologies. He has developed sensor technologies for a vast range of applications including personal safety, food contamination and environmental monitoring. At Owlstone he is responsible for the technical development of the breath capture devices and the analytical techniques behind biomarker identification. He has pioneered the development and application of Owlstone's unique technologies to detect traces of chemicals in complex environments and at ever lower concentrations.

Previous roles have included Senior Scientist for Kidde Research and then the same role at United Technologies Corporation after a company acquisition. Max has a multidisciplinary background primarily in physics, chemistry and material science with a doctorate in condensed matter physics and also has over a dozen patents to his name.
