Sean Young

Sean Young has a diverse work experience in various roles across different companies. Sean is currently working as a Senior Product Manager at Ownr since June 2023. Prior to that, Sean worked at RBC as a Senior Product Manager from May 2022 to June 2023, where they led a team focused on climate initiatives and conducted user interviews to inform the decision-making process.

Before RBC, Sean held multiple roles at BrainStation, starting as an Associate Product Manager in April 2018 and progressing to Associate Director, Product in August 2021. During their time at BrainStation, they were responsible for designing and developing digital products, maintaining the product roadmap, and managing the company's digital strategy.

Earlier in their career, Sean worked as a Product Manager at PiinPoint from June 2016 to April 2018, where they contributed to the overall direction and health of the company's mobile game, Word Streak with Friends. Sean also gained valuable experience as a Marketing Lead at Hack the North from May 2014 to December 2015, where they oversaw marketing activities and customer support for Canada's Largest Hackathon.

Additionally, Sean had internships at Zynga as a Product Manager Intern and at Microsoft as a Product Marketing Intern for Microsoft Office. At Zynga, they were responsible for analyzing user data, creating new game features, and developing a game mode. At Microsoft, Sean worked on marketing campaigns, developed marketing strategies, and executed programs to increase user count for Microsoft Office.

Before their internships, Sean started their career as a Technical Writer Intern at BlackBerry, where they created documentation for the BlackBerry WebWorks platform.

Sean Young obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication and Arts & Business from the University of Waterloo. Sean attended the university from 2011 to 2016.
