James Morrissey

Research Lead: Energy And Climate at Oxfam America

James Morrissey is an experienced researcher specializing in energy, climate, and development, currently serving as the Research Lead for Energy and Climate at Oxfam America since July 2014. Morrissey's work involves developing strategic research questions and facilitating knowledge functions that address the interconnections between climate change, energy access, and development. Previously, Morrissey held roles as a Senior Researcher and Researcher focused on energy, climate, and poverty issues. In addition to work with Oxfam, Morrissey has been a member of Justiça Ambiental, advocating for sustainable dam projects in Mozambique, and has held academic positions, including Academic Coordinator at Kulturstudier and Junior Research Fellow in Refugee Studies at Lady Margaret Hall. Morrissey has a D.Phil and M.Phil from the University of Oxford, along with undergraduate degrees in Environmental and Geographical Science and Ocean and Atmosphere Science from the University of Cape Town.
