Rachel Jones Schaevitz

Rachel Jones Schaevitz, Ph.D., serves as the Head of Communications, Media & Advocacy at Oxfam Aotearoa since August 2020, overseeing all communications and media engagement to enhance the organization's reputation and support for international development initiatives. Previously, Rachel held several roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Communications Lead and Associate Director for State Outreach & Strategic Partnerships, focusing on community outreach and public humanities events. Prior experience includes a Lectureship at Temple University, roles in the art department for independent films, and positions at DreamWorks SKG and New Line Cinema in publicity and licensing. Rachel holds a Ph.D. in Media & Communication from Temple University, an MFA in Film Studies from Boston University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Film & TV Production from New York University.
