Marie Insall has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Marie started their career as an English Teacher at Erenkoy Isik Private Primary School, where they contributed to the establishment of the English department. Marie then moved on to work as a Book Seller at Waterstones before gaining work experience placements at Kyle Cathie Publishers and Penguin Random House. Marie joined Collins Education as a Desk Editor, managing various publishing projects. Marie's role expanded within Collins Education as they became an Editor for the Home Learning team, focusing on market-focused publishing projects. Marie then took on the role of Trade Accounts Sales Manager/Senior Editor, where they were responsible for selling the education portfolio to trade accounts. Marie later joined Pearson, where they held several roles such as Publisher, Senior Product Manager, and Senior Manager for Product Management. Currently, they are working as the Head of Product Support at OCR.
Marie Insall completed their education at the University of Leeds from 1997 to 2000, obtaining a BA Hons degree in English Language and Literature. Prior to that, they attended William De Ferrers Secondary School from 1990 to 1997. In addition to their academic achievements, Marie also obtained various certifications, including PADI Open Water in 2016, EDCL Advanced Accredited computer course in 2003, ECDL Accredited computer course in 2002, and a Certificate in English Language Teaching for Young Learners from the British Council in 2001.
