Rob Bennett has worked in the legal industry since 2004. Rob began their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Lee & Priestley LLP before moving to Mishcon de Reya as a Solicitor in the M&A, Corporate & Commercial Team in 2006. In 2008, they joined SABMiller as Corporate Counsel in the Group Mergers & Acquisitions team. In 2012, they moved to DLA Piper as an Associate in the Business Restructuring Team. In 2014, they joined Shepherd Building Group as M&A/Corporate Development and was instrumental in the turnaround, restructuring and disposal of a £450 million loss-making core business. From 2017 to 2019, they provided legal counsel to various clients in multiple sectors. In 2019, they joined Costcutter Supermarkets Group Limited as General Counsel & Company Secretary, and in 2021 they moved into the role of General Counsel for Bestway Retail following the acquisition of Costcutter. In 2022, they joined Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies Holdings Plc as General Counsel & Company Secretary, with ultimate responsibility for all legal and regulatory aspects of the business.
Rob Bennett attended Cheltenham College from 1996 to 1998. Rob then went on to the University of York, where they obtained a BEng in Electronic Engineering with Business Management between 1999 and 2002. Rob then completed a Graduate Diploma in Law/Legal Practice Course at The University of Law from 2002 to 2004.
