Tracey started their career as a Regional Merchandise Manager at Rich’s/Lazarus/Goldsmith’s. Tracey then became the General Manager at North Point Furniture Gallery before joining Macy’s as the VP Store Manager at Lenox Square. In 2013, they joined Belk as the VP Human Resources for Stores. During their time at Belk, they streamlined the store organization, consolidating from 3 to 2 divisions. Tracey also successfully rolled out Workday, collaborating closely with the tech team on processed design, configuration, and testing of the new technology.

Under Tracey’s leadership, the HR team at Belk has made great strides in improving compliance and simplifying processes. Most recently, they led an HR compliance project focusing on adhering to the new requirements for FLSA. Tracey is a highly effective leader with a deep understanding of how to successfully manage and motivate teams. Tracey is an expert at developing and implementing HR strategies that improve talent and elevate the overall performance of the organization.

Tracey Hernandez has a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the State University of New York.
