Morteza Safar-Ali

Morteza Safar-Ali has a diverse work experience in various roles related to data engineering and database administration. Morteza started their career as a Database Administrator at Morningstar in 2004 and then moved to Access Cash GP/ EzeeATM, where they continued to work as a Database Administrator. In 2013, Morteza joined PLASP Child Care Services as a Database Administrator before transitioning to Europ Assistance - Global Corporate Solutions as a Database Administrator in 2014. In 2016, they joined Oxford Properties Group, initially as a Database Engineer and then progressed to the role of Data Engineer. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Data Engineer at Oxford Properties Group. Additionally, Morteza is also engaged as a part-time faculty member at Seneca College since 2022.

Morteza Safar-Ali completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Tehran from 1987 to 1993. Morteza then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mathematics from York University, which they achieved from 2001 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Morteza Safar-Ali has obtained various certifications. These certifications include Micro-Teaching/Lesson Design from Seneca College in May 2022, Data Engineering, Big Data, and Machine Learning on GCP from Coursera in October 2020, Analyzing Big Data with Microsoft R from Global Knowledge in September 2018, Developing SQL Data Models from Global Knowledge in October 2017, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate from Microsoft in November 2020, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate from Microsoft in September 2020.
