Job Description: Human Resources Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Human Resources Reports to: Associate Director of HR Location: Central Office Beginning Rate: E0 (19.01/hr)– E5 ($20.99/hr)

Position Type: Full-Time Beginning Salary: $36,195 - $39,964 Description of Position: Daily job duties of the Human Resources Associate include: monitoring employee benefits, assisting with onboarding, assisting with maintaining employee records, and assisting with leave management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor Employee Benefits (30%) Process forms for PERS Maintain current and accurate information for Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Minnesota Life in appropriate databases. Serve as point of contact for American Fidelity. Consult with new and current employees concerning benefits. Assist with Employee Onboarding and Exiting (25%) E-verify new employees Submit appropriate PERS forms. Submit online background investigations on new-employees. Assist with new employee orientations and exiting procedures. Complete new hire and employee exit reporting. Assist with Maintaining Employee Records (25%) Assist with updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and termination. Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Keep employee database spreadsheets current. Assist with Leave Management (10%) Process FMLA paperwork Process Workman’s Compensation claims Assist with Absence Management software program. Additional Responsibilities (10%) Serve as support/backup for Central Office Receptionist. Assist with district recruitment efforts. Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Maintain high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements Two years of college, or 48 hours of college credit. Two years of job-related experience in similar position. Good knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite). Ability to operate most standard office equipment. Excellent telephone and oral communication skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances Organized and able to multitask. Ability to occasionally lift files and office products up to 20 pounds. Pass a criminal background test and be fingerprinted before gaining employment. Preferred Associate degree or higher Experience in Human Resources
