With a background in cell and molecular biology, Qian joined OXGENE in July 2017 as a Cell Line Engineering Scientist. She was then gradually promoted to lead all biomanufacturing services OXGENE provide. Prior to joining OXGENE, Qian was a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Regenerative Medicine, involved in bioartificial liver development and stem cell differentiation mechanism investigation in Loughborough University and the University of Nottingham, respectively. Qian obtained her PhD in Molecular Nutrition from the University of Nottingham.
Qian recounts that the best thing about her role is the opportunity to work with talented, motivated scientists on cutting-edge technology. She describes that the shared goal of her scientific and commercial colleagues is to advance the technologies at the forefront of medicine, and that they reflect their dedication in their day-to-day work. She takes pride in the recent growth of her team and finds it rewarding to observe the consistently collaborative spirit.
