Gilles Louwerens

Gilles Louwerens is the Head of Data Intelligence at OXIO. Gilles has over seven years of experience in the field of data and market intelligence. Prior to joining OXIO, Gilles was the Head of Market Intelligence for Uber in Latin America. In this role, they and their team provided market data, converted data into intelligence/insights, and developed competitive strategy and tactics for Uber LatAm.

Before their time at Uber, Gilles worked as a Senior Wireline Field Engineer for Baker Hughes. Gilles was part of the Baker Hughes LEAD development programme and focused on quickly gaining responsibility in field operations and progress to leadership roles. As a Data Acquisition Engineer, they supervised a crew of 5 equipment operators and was responsible for the operational planning, equipment and personnel coordination, safety, client interaction, and data acquisition. This included outlier / NaN value detection, troubleshooting (hardware and software), data processing and delivery.

Gilles has also been a member of IRP project teams for both Petrofac and Baker Hughes. Gilles has a strong background in data analysis and interpretation, as well as market research and competitive analysis. Gilles holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Gilles Louwerens has a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Delft University of Technology. Gilles is also an affiliate of Environmental Engineering from UCL. Their Bachelor of Science degree is in Applied Earth Sciences from Delft University of Technology. Gilles Louwerens has certifications from Coursera in Deep Learning Specialization, Advanced Machine Learning and Signal Processing (IBM), Applied AI with DeepLearning (IBM), Fundamentals of Scalable Data Science (IBM), Machine Learning by Andrew Ng (Stanford University), Dataquest.io in Kaggle Competitions Subject, and edX in edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python.
