Ray Gan

Ray Gan has a diverse range of work experience that spans several companies and roles. Ray is currently employed as a Software Engineer (Full-Stack) at Oyen® Insurance, where they are responsible for maintaining and improving key features of the business, including upgrading the eligibility form flow. Prior to this, Ray worked as a Technical Mentor for the APEC App Challenge 2023 at Digital Makers Asia Pacific. Ray also served as a Junior Software Engineer (Full Stack) at Mindworks Interactive, where they led the frontend team of a tech startup project and collaborated with product managers and UI/UX designers to deliver features.

Ray's earlier experiences include being a Co-Founder and Co-Lead of the Google Developer Student Club UPM, where they successfully established the first tech club at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and organized events and workshops to foster a community of tech enthusiasts. Ray also worked as a Web Developer at Speedhome.com, contributing to the frontend development of the website. Additionally, Ray worked as a Software Tester at Boutir, conducting black-box testing and designing test cases to ensure a seamless user experience. Ray also served as a Student Ambassador at the Data Analytics Consultancy Network.

During their time as a Software Intern (Mobile) at Agmo Studio Sdn Bhd, Ray leveraged React Native to build and publish app features and updates for mobile applications. Ray also contributed to blockchain-related projects and updated UI designs for iOS projects. Lastly, Ray was a Co-Founder of the UPM Hackers student tech club, where they led a board of committees in advocating tech and competition opportunities for students.

Overall, Ray Gan has demonstrated a strong technical skill set and a commitment to fostering tech communities and organizing events throughout their work experience.

From 2019 to 2023, Ray Gan attended Universiti Putra Malaysia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics.

In 2017 and 2018, Ray Gan studied at Chung Ling (National Type) High School in the Science Stream and obtained a Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) qualification.

From 2012 to 2016, Ray Gan also attended Chung Ling (National Type) High School in the Science Stream and obtained a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualification.

In addition to their formal education, Ray Gan has obtained several certifications. In May 2021, they completed the DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer Specialization and the JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures courses from Coursera and freeCodeCamp, respectively. Ray also completed the Sequences, Time Series and Prediction course from Coursera in the same month.

In April 2021, Ray Gan completed the Convolutional Neural Networks in TensorFlow course from Coursera, the Intro to SQL course from Kaggle, the Introduction to TensorFlow for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning course from Coursera, and the Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow course from Coursera.

Furthermore, in March 2021, they completed the Intermediate Machine Learning, Intro to Machine Learning, Pandas, and Python courses from Kaggle.

Lastly, in November 2020, Ray Gan completed the Responsive Web Design course from freeCodeCamp.
