Russ Thaut

Russ Thaut has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, with a focus on the upstream oil and gas sector. Russ began their career at Paradigm Technologies, where they served as a Systems Analyst and Programmer from 1991 to 1994. During their time at Paradigm, they played a key role in the design, development, and support of the Excalibur system.

In 1994, Thaut joined GWIZ Systems Inc. as a Senior Systems Analyst, where they contributed their expertise until 1995 when the company was acquired by P2 Energy Solutions.

Thaut then moved on to Duke Energy Corporation, serving as an IT Revenue Manager and IT Director from 1995 to 1998.

In 1998, Thaut founded Thaut Solutions, Inc., where they worked as President and Independent Consultant. Their focus during this time was providing system solutions, including discovery, BI analysis, development, implementation, and training, with a specialty in the upstream oil and gas industry. Russ held this position until 2012.

Thaut's most recent role was at P2 Energy Solutions, starting in 2012. During their time at P2 Energy, they served as the Principle Business Analyst and Principle Software Engineer for BI Analytics, focusing on the upstream oil and gas sector. In this role, they developed executive and operational energy industry BI solutions, resolving issues related to trends and well depletion analysis, dynamic lease operating statements, and budget to actuals. Thaut also played a crucial part in bringing a vision to strategically unite and leverage legacy data centers into a powerful analytical tool.

Russ Thaut has a Bachelor's Degree in Theology/Theological Studies from Barclay College. Russ also has an Associate's Degree in Computer Science from Northeast College in Norfolk, NE. Additionally, Russ has taken courses in Information Technology at Community Technical College in Hastings, NE, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree in this field.
