Shalon Buchs, EdD, PA-C, currently serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors of the PA Education Association, working to enhance PA education through leadership and inclusivity. As the Director of the Office of Continuous Quality Improvement and Associate Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine, Shalon is responsible for monitoring accreditation compliance and strategic planning. Previously, Shalon held roles as the Associate Director and Assistant Professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine, where responsibilities included serving as Associate Program Director and Director of Admissions. Shalon's clinical experience includes positions as a Physician Assistant in Emergency Departments at North Florida Regional Medical Center and Ocala Regional Medical Center. Shalon holds a Doctorate in Education from Wilmington University, a Master's in Health Sciences from Duke University, and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Florida.

PAEA is the national organization representing physician assistant (PA) educational programs in the United States. We serve as a resource for individuals and organizations from various professional sectors interested in the educational aspects of the PA profession. We are the organization primarily responsible for collecting, publishing, and disseminating information on the PA programs. We provide effective representation to affiliated organizations involved in health education, health care policy, and the national certification of PA graduates. We work to ensure quality PA education through the development and distribution of educational services and products specifically geared toward meeting the emerging needs of PA programs, the PA profession, and the health care industry.
