Jakub Urban

Jakub Urban has a diverse work experience spanning from 2003 to the present. Jakub currently works as the Science Platform Tech Lead at Pace Revenue, leading a team of platform engineers and bridging the gap between research and production in data science. Prior to this role, they served as a Research Platform Engineer at the same company.

From 2019 to 2021, Jakub worked as a Data Science Architect at innogy Česká republika, where they contributed their expertise in data science.

Before that, they were employed at Quantlane in 2018, first as a Data Engineer/Scientist, working on data engineering and scientific projects. Jakub then transitioned to the role of Senior Python Developer.

From 2013 to 2018, Jakub worked at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Jakub started as a Research Scientist and then became the Theory and Modelling Group Leader. Jakub also served as the Research Scientist and Integrated Modelling Group Leader during their tenure in the institute.

In 2011, Jakub worked as a Research Scientist at CEA. Jakub started their professional career in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Plasma Physics AS CR, focusing on EFDA Fusion Fellowship project. Jakub also worked as a Graduate Student at the same institute from 2004 to 2008, where they conducted research on electron Bernstein wave emission simulations for spherical tokamaks.

Furthermore, Jakub gained experience as an IT Administrator at Charles University from 2003 to 2006, overseeing IT infrastructure administration and providing user support.

Jakub Urban began their education at GVP from 1994 to 1998, however, the specific degree and field of study are unknown. Jakub then attended Czech Technical University in Prague from 1998 to 2004, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Computational Physics. Jakub continued their education at the same university, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from 2004 to 2008.
