Tamer Aboushwareb has an extensive work experience history. Tamer began their career as an Assistant Lecturer of Urology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University in Egypt from October 2000 to December 2007. From there, they worked at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine as an Assistant Professor, leading research projects focused on improving kidney function and total kidney regeneration from October 2004 to April 2012. In April 2012, they started their own consulting business specializing in biomedical consulting for translational medicine in the urologic area.
In October 2012, Tamer joined Allergan Inc. as a Medical Science Manager in the RSS Urology department. Tamer held this role until February 2015 when they became a Senior Medical Science Manager in the same department. In May 2015, they transitioned to the role of Medical Director, responsible for medical affairs functions for the urology therapeutic area at Allergan. From July 2016 to November 2019, Tamer served as the Global Therapy Area Head of Medical Affairs for Urology at Allergan.
Following their time at Allergan, Tamer joined Genomic Health as the Senior Director of Oncology Development, focusing on Urology from November 2017 to November 2019. Tamer then worked at Exact Sciences as the Senior Director of Clinical Development from November 2019 to June 2022. Finally, in June 2022, Tamer Aboushwareb took on the role of Vice President of Medical Affairs at Pacific Edge Ltd.
Tamer Aboushwareb completed their KG to High school education at The English school from 1976 to 1987. Tamer then pursued higher education at Ain Shams University, where they obtained an MD and PhD in Urology from 1988 to 2007.
