Mike Johanson has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and industries. Mike began their career as a Water Treatment Plant Operator at Salt Lake City Corporation from 1997 to 2002, where they supervised plant operations and ensured compliance with regulations. Mike then worked as an Environmental Scientist at the State of Utah, Division of Drinking Water from 2002 to 2006, conducting field inspections, mapping system resources using GIS, and writing detailed reports. In 2006, they joined Questar Gas Corporation as an environmental specialist, overseeing projects related to air quality, water, and hazardous waste, while working with state and federal agencies. From 2007 to 2013, Mike held various roles at PacifiCorp, including Senior Environmental Engineer, Environmental Manager, and Compliance Manager. In these positions, they managed environmental programs, supported power plant projects, and ensured compliance with regulatory standards. In their most recent role at PacifiCorp, from 2013 to 2019, Mike served as the Compliance Manager and later as the Partner-Operated Plant Director. Mike oversaw compliance areas such as NERC, FERC, and WECC reliability standards, managed shared plant operations, and handled financial planning and budgeting.

Mike Johanson completed their Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Utah in 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Southern Utah University in 1997.
