Managing Director - Explorer Books at Packt

Simon Cox ACIM has a diverse work experience in the publishing industry. Simon started their career at Lion Hudson Limited in 2005 as a Project Editor and worked their way up to become a Brand Manager and then a Senior Brand Manager. In 2016, they transitioned to the role of Product Development Manager at Lion Hudson Limited.

In 2017, Simon joined Packt as a Product Manager, where they played a key role in shaping the direction of Packt's technical book product and developing new product lines. Simon was responsible for product research, design, implementation, and roll-out. Additionally, they also managed training content and quality scorecards, and assessed product outlines.

In 2020, Simon was promoted to the role of Head of Operations at Packt, where they oversaw the publication of multiple books per month and coordinated a large number of books simultaneously. Currently, Simon holds the position of Managing Director - Explorer Books at Packt, where they lead a team of 180 staff and manages the publication of over 400 books per year, generating revenue of £10+ million annually.

Simon Cox ACIM completed their Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing Management from Oxford Brookes University, from 1995 to 1998. Simon also obtained a CIM Prof Dip in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing, from 2010 to 2011. Their education history also includes attending Wallingford School from 1986 to 1994, although no degree or field of study is specified for this period. Additionally, Simon Cox ACIM obtained a certification in Product Management and Product Marketing for technology-based products from Product Focus in December 2017.
