Shalanda Ballard has extensive experience in labor, employment, and benefits legal matters. Shalanda currently serves as the Chief Counsel, Labor, Employment and Benefits and Vice President, Labor and Employee Relations at Pactiv Evergreen Inc., where they lead a team and provides expert advice on various labor and employment issues. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Associate General Counsel, Employment at Optum, where they handled all employment law matters for OptumRx and OptumInsight, including those arising during the COVID-19 pandemic and international employment laws. Before that, they served as the Senior Corporate Counsel, Labor and Employment at 3M, where they provided legal guidance and support on employment and human resources matters. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Corporate Counsel, Employment at Best Buy and as a Senior Associate Attorney, Employment at Flynn Gaskins & Bennett, representing Fortune 100 companies in employment litigation. Overall, Shalanda has a strong background in employment law and has worked with various companies, providing expert counsel and handling complex employment-related matters.

Shalanda Ballard holds a Juris Doctorate with Honors and Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources and Industrial Relations at The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.
