Manuel Benz

Manuel Benz is a seasoned technology professional currently serving as Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder at CodeShield since April 2020, where the focus is on enabling cloud teams to swiftly detect IAM privilege escalations. Additionally, since October 2016, Benz has held the position of Soot Chief Maintainer at Universität Paderborn, leading the development of the Soot static analysis framework, while also pursuing research as a PhD candidate in static and dynamic program analysis with an emphasis on security vulnerabilities in Java applications. Prior to these roles, Benz was a Scientific Employee at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT, specializing in the static analysis of cryptographic API misuses, and has experience as a software developer at SAP. Benz holds multiple degrees in Computer Science and IT-Security from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
