Amy Baxter MD FAAP FACEP has been in the medical field since 1989. Amy began their career as the Founder and CEO of a student run organization at Yale University Low-Op. In 1995, they took on the role of Director of Medical Programs at Kaplan. In 2000, they completed a Child Abuse Fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. In 2003, they became an Emergency Medicine Physician at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. In 2005, they took on the role of Director of Emergency Research at Pediatric Emergency Medicine Associates, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Scottish Rite. In 2006, they became Chief Medical Officer and CEO at Pain Care Labs, and also acted as CEO and Founder, Needle Pain Management Consultant, and Founder + CEO, having invented the MDEA-Winning Buzzy® physiologic pain blocker, VibraCool for Aches and Injuries, and DistrACTION® cards. In 2018, they took on the role of Board Member at BRIGHT.

Amy Baxter MD FAAP FACEP has a long and varied education history. Amy began their studies at Henry Clay in 1983, then transferred to Dartmouth College in 1986 to study Psychology. Amy then transferred to Yale University in 1988, where they obtained their BA in Psychology in 1991. Amy then attended Emory University School of Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. In 2003, they attended UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they obtained a Certificate of Clinical Research from their k-30 Clinical Scholars Program. Amy also obtained a Clinical and Translational Research Certificate from UT Southwestern Medical School in 2005. In 2015, they obtained a Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
