Fang-Ming Lai is a Senior Scientist and Lead in Plant Cell Biology at Pairwise since June 2019. Prior to this role, Fang-Ming served as a Principal Scientist at BASF from 2000 to May 2019, focusing on crop transformation and related technology development. Earlier, Fang-Ming worked as a Research Associate at the Plant Biotechnology Institute, National Research Council of Canada, where efforts were made to engineer fungal disease resistance in field peas. Fang-Ming holds an MBA in Bioscience Management from North Carolina State University (2008-2010) and a PhD in Plant Physiology from the University of Guelph (1990-1994).
