Jaroslav Burian

Jaroslav Burian is an accomplished academic and professional in the fields of geoinformatics and cartography, currently serving as an associate professor at Palacký University Olomouc since 2007, and previously held the same position at Moravská vysoká škola Olomouc from August 2019 to September 2022. Burian also acts as the CEO and project manager at Urban Planner since July 2015 and has been a freelance GIS consultant and cartographer since 2005. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cartography, Geoinformatics, and Remote Sensing from Charles University (2007-2012), a Master's degree in Geoinformatics from Palacký University in Olomouc (2002-2007), and a doctoral degree from VSB - Technical University of Ostrava (2019). Additionally, Burian served as an editor for GeoBusiness from 2006 to 2012.
