Tapio Frantti

Tapio Frantti is an accomplished academic and industry leader in control engineering and wireless communication systems. Currently serving as a Professor of Practice at the University of Jyväskylä since May 2021, Tapio also holds the position of CTO at Finnish Research and Engineering since January 2010. An Associate Professor (Docent) at the University of Oulu, Tapio has contributed significantly to research as a Principal Scientist at the Academy of Finland. Previous roles include CTO at IoLiving, Distinguished Researcher and Research Leader at Renesas Mobile Europe Ltd., and Research Professor at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Tapio's extensive experience in wireless and wireline communications includes impactful positions at VTT Electronics and Nokia Oyj. With a Doctor of Technology degree in Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Oulu, Tapio also served as a Visiting Professor at Tokyo Denki University.
