Head of Tax at Palantir

Stephanie Su is the current Head of Tax at Palantir. Stephanie has over eight years of experience in tax, with a focus on tax planning, compliance, and strategy. Stephanie began their career at Splunk in January 2012 as Senior Director, Tax. In this role, they were responsible for leading company-wide tax operations, designing legal entity structures for global expansion, presenting to the Board of Directors and executive team on tax strategies and legislative developments, establishing the tax department, and managing and negotiating tax engagements and budgets with external service providers.

During their time at Splunk, Stephanie was instrumental in developing and implementing international HQ structures in EMEA and APAC to support business growth while achieving $20M+ in annual cash tax savings. Stephanie also developed and managed Splunk's transfer pricing policy, including negotiating a bilateral advance pricing agreement between the IRS and HMRC to minimize audit exposures. In addition, Stephanie managed R&D tax credit incentives in multiple jurisdictions, attaining $30M+ in annual tax savings.

Stephanie has extensive experience in M&A, having managed tax work for 12+ acquisitions, including negotiation, due diligence, and integration. Stephanie has also advised executives on US and non-US tax issues related to sales tax and VAT implications of supplier and customer arrangements, entity reorganization and formation, and debt restructuring.

In their current role as Head of Tax at Palantir, Stephanie is responsible for all aspects of the company's tax function, including compliance, planning, strategy, and M&A. Under their leadership, Palantir has achieved significant cash tax savings and efficiencies through thoughtful tax planning and management.

Stephanie Su graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics. Stephanie then went on to earn their Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Santa Clara University.
