Matt Marino

Matt Marino is a Senior Archaeologist at PaleoWest in Tallahassee, Florida. Matt has over eight years of experience in the field of archaeology and cultural resource management.

Matt started their career as an Archaeological Technician at Plateau Archaeological Investigations in 2013. Matt was quickly promoted to Archaeologist and then to Project Manager. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of archaeological projects, from fieldwork and data collection to report writing and client liaison. Matt also served as the company's GIS Specialist, performing all geospatial analyses and designing maps for bids, projects, and reports.

In 2017, Matt left Plateau to join the Florida Department of Transportation as a State Cultural Resource Specialist. In this role, they oversaw the cultural resources program for the state of Florida, working with numerous state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Matt also worked with private landowners to mitigate the impacts of development on cultural resources.

In 2020, Matt left the Florida DOT to join PaleoWest as a Senior Archaeologist. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's archaeological projects, from fieldwork and data collection to report writing and client liaison. Matt also serves as the company's GIS Specialist, performing all geospatial analyses and designing maps for bids, projects, and reports.
