Head Of Energy Economics at Palm Group

Philipp Erdmann started their career at RWE in 2008 as a Specialist Referent Energy-Management, where they developed gas purchasing and power commercialization strategies for gas and biomass industrial power plants. Philipp also managed the CO2-portfolio combined with risk management for these plants. In 2011, they joined Palm Gruppe as the Head of Energy Economics, where they actively managed gas and electricity purchasing and risk management for multiple paper mills, power plants, and corrugated packaging sites across Germany, UK, and France. In 2017, they returned to the paper industry as the Head of Energy Economics at PALM PAPER LIMITED, leading the implementation of energy management for a paper mill and a new power plant. Philipp also set up an advanced demand site response system for the mill.

Philipp Erdmann has an extensive education history. Philipp obtained an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management from HEC Paris in the years 2019 to 2020. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Energy Economics at the University of Münster from 2009 to 2011. Philipp also holds a Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) in Environmental Protection and Regional Planning from Technische Universität Dresden, which they earned from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, they have a Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) in Supply and Disposal Engineering from Cologne University of Applied Sciences, completed between 2003 and 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Philipp Erdmann has obtained various certifications. Philipp has an Executive Certificate in Innovative Management and Entrepreneurial Leadership from Babson College, acquired in October 2019. Philipp also holds an International Senior Management Program certificate from St. Galler Business School, earned in November 2015. Finally, they have a Certified Exchange Trader certification from European Energy Exchange AG, obtained in March 2013.
