Joi Gilliam

Joi Gilliam is currently serving as the Leadership and Organizational Development Director at the South Carolina Department of Commerce, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Joi held various positions within the same department, including Deputy Director of Research, Senior Consultant, and Senior Research Analyst, showcasing a strong progression in leadership and research expertise from February 2014 to January 2022. Joi's earlier experience includes roles as a School Library Media Specialist at Lexington-Richland School District Five and Lexington County School District One, as well as Head of Reference Library Services at Aiken County Public Library from June 2002 to August 2006. Academic credentials include a Bachelor’s Degree in English from South Carolina State University and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.
