Matthew Walsh

Matthew Walsh currently serves as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research since August 2023. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as an Emergency Department Scribe at Carilion Clinic from August 2022 to May 2023. Matthew's experience in the US Navy spans from May 2019 to May 2022 as a Naval Nuclear Submarine Officer, where responsibilities included Operational Safety Officer, Ship's Diving Officer, Information Systems Security Manager, SCUBA Diving Officer, and Chemistry and Radiological Controls Assistant aboard the USS TOLEDO (SSN 769). Earlier training included attendance at the Nuclear Power Training Unit and Nuclear Power School, where Matthew engaged in advanced studies in engineering related to Naval Nuclear Power. Additionally, Matthew completed a summer internship at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in 2015, contributing to the Materials Engineering group.
