André Augusto Geraldes

André Augusto Geraldes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. André Augusto is currently working at Panakeia as a Technical Lead, a position they have held since May 2022. Prior to this, they were a Software Engineer at Panakeia from April 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining Panakeia, André worked at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. André Augusto started as a PHD Student in October 2015 and completed their doctoral studies in May 2019. André Augusto then continued working at the institute as a Postdoctoral Researcher from June 2019 to March 2021.

André's earlier work experience includes positions at Universidade de Brasília and Overdrive Education. At Universidade de Brasília, they were a Graduate Student Researcher from February 2014 to September 2015, where they worked on a project related to the development of an actuated robotic endoscope holder. André Augusto also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from July 2014 to December 2014.

At Overdrive Education, André was the Founder of an early-stage startup focused on maker education. André Augusto led the development of an e-learning platform to teach robotics, programming, electronics, and digital fabrication. Their entrepreneurial venture received seed funding from Start-Up Brasil, an initiative by the Brazilian government.

André's early career also included internships at Texas Instruments. André Augusto worked as an intern from July 2010 to December 2010 and from January 2011 to June 2011.

André Augusto Geraldes began their education journey in 2006 at Universidade de Brasília where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics with a specialization in Control and Automation Engineering. André Augusto completed this program in 2012. In 2009, they had an opportunity to study Electronics and Computer Science at CPE Lyon for a year. From 2013 to 2015, André pursued a Master of Science degree in Automation and Electronic Systems Engineering at Universidade de Brasília. Later, from 2015 to 2019, they attended Università degli Studi di Verona, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science.
