Dimaris Barrios-Beltran has seven years of work experience in the field of Spanish language and culture. From 2005-2007, they worked as an Intern in Rehabilitation Counseling & Counseling Psychology at Hospital Auxilio Mutuo. From 2007-2012, they worked at Indiana University Bloomington as a Spanish Language Facilitator and Associate Instructor, teaching different levels of Spanish and developing class materials. From 2012-2015, they worked at Amherst College as a Lecturer in Spanish, teaching Spanish at different levels, developing class materials, and supervising the work of Spanish Language Assistants. From 2015-2016, they worked at The College Board as an ETS- AP Exam Table Leader and an ETS- Redesigned SAT - Rater. From 2015-2016, they worked at Mount Holyoke College as a Visiting Language Instructor in Spanish, teaching Spanish language courses, developing assessment and class materials, and participating in workshops and events that promote Spanish language and culture. Finally, from 2013-2016, they worked at Five Colleges, Inc. as a Faculty Consultant in Spanish, serving as a faculty consultant for Spanish classroom courses offered through a new Five College extension language school.
Dimaris Barrios-Beltran obtained their BA in Arts of Public Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2003. Dimaris then went on to obtain their MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from the same university in 2007. In 2016, they completed their PhD from Indiana University Bloomington, majoring in Language Sciences and minoring in Dimaris'spanic Linguistics and Linguistics.
