Mark McVay

Mark McVay is currently an advisor at Pano. Prior to this, they were the managing director at Stanford University's Net-Zero Academy, where they brought together Stanford's resources to support organizational climate commitments. Before that, they were the chief commercial officer at Renewell Energy.

Mark has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, product development, and business transformation. Mark started their career as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, before moving into sales with Ariba. In 2007, they joined PowerAdvocate as sales director. Under their leadership, the company grew its customer base from 5 to over 100 and transformed its business model to software/data. The company was sold to Verisk in 2017 and Mark completed their earn out in 2019.

Lieutenant Commander Mark McVay served in the US Navy from 1986 to 1994.

Mark McVay has an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in Operations and Product Design, a MSE from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering, and a BS from United States Naval Academy in Systems Engineering.
