Kate Vannelli is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as the Leader of the Living with Big Cats Initiative at WWF since July 2021. In addition to this role, Kate has been a Board Member and Program Director at Global Conservation Corps since June 2018, focusing on the Future Rangers Program, alongside responsibilities in non-profit development including fundraising and partnerships. As a Partner Photographer for PANTHERA, Kate contributes to wildlife conservation efforts and previously worked as a Research Assistant for LRC Wildlife Conservation, where research focused on the Namibian leopard population. Kate has also held roles in research on snow leopard conservation in India, managed the International Cheetah Studbook at Cheetah Conservation Fund, and engaged in ecological fieldwork. Educationally, Kate holds a Master’s Degree in Conservation and Rural Development from the University of Kent and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science & Biology from the University of Oregon.
