Pierre Cantin. MBA. ICD.D

Pierre Cantin, MBA, ICD.D, has a diverse range of work experience spanning over three decades. Pierre is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Panthera Dental, a leading company in CAD/CAM implant solutions and dental sleep appliances. In this role, Pierre is responsible for managing the company's strategic partnerships.

Prior to their current position, Pierre founded their own consulting firm, Pierre Cantin Strategic Consulting, in 2019. As the President of their firm, they provided strategic advisory services, with a focus on private equity, venture capital, debt financing, and board governance. Pierre worked with investment firms and their portfolio companies, offering their expertise as part of due diligence processes, an independent director, or a financial and strategic advisor.

From 2016 to 2019, Pierre held the position of Senior Principal, Growth Capital Investment, at CIC Capital. This role involved overseeing private equity investments in growth capital in Canada. CIC Capital is the international private equity arm of CM-CIC Investissement, and Pierre played a key role in equity financing activities.

Pierre's experience in board leadership includes serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Searchlight Pharma Inc. from 2017 to 2019. During this time, they also acted as the Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee at Panthera Dental.

Prior to their consulting and private equity roles, Pierre held senior positions at Investissement Québec, Société Générale de financement du Québec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, KPMG Corporate Finance, and RBC. These roles allowed Pierre to develop a strong background in business development, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and knowledge-based industries.

With their extensive experience and diverse skill set, Pierre Cantin has demonstrated a track record of success in various sectors and has made significant contributions to the organizations they have been a part of.

Pierre Cantin completed their education in a chronological order as follows. From 1988 to 1993, they pursued an MBA degree specializing in Finance at HEC Montréal. Prior to this, from 1978 to 1981, they attended McGill University, where they obtained a B.Ed degree in Education and Exercise Physiology. In addition to their formal education, Pierre also holds a certification as an Institute-certified Director, ICD.D, which they received from the Institute of Corporate Directors in April 2021.
