Dave Nestic

Dave Nestic has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Dave has held various positions in different organizations, showcasing their expertise in technology commercialization, business development, and management consulting.

Starting in 1983, they worked as an Engineering Sales professional at Computer Automation, followed by a similar role at ComputerVision in 1986. In 1990, they became the Director of Manufacturing and Technology Economic Development at the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

In 1994, Nestic founded their own technology business development and management consulting firm called NezTech Corporation. Dave served as the President of the company, where they specialized in early-stage technology commercialization, R&D funding, and business formation activities.

From 1998 to 2001, Nestic co-founded NetEnabled, where they served as the Co-Founder and VP of Business Development. The company provided embedded Internet communications solutions.

In 2007, Nestic joined JumpStart and NorTech as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Senior Consultant in the field of advanced energy, power, and propulsion. These organizations focused on providing entrepreneurial assistance and seed investment to start-up technology ventures and cluster development and collaboration.

Between 2008 and 2016, Nestic served as a City Council Member for the City of Salem, Ohio, actively participating in civic and philanthropic organizations.

From 2011 to 2019, they worked as the Chief Executive and Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center (TBEIC), a technology business incubator and technical center specializing in energy, advanced materials, sensors and electronics, and clean-tech.

In 2016, Nestic joined the Ohio Federal Research Network as a Commercialization Executive, where they collaborated with academic research institutions, industry partners, and federal labs to accelerate the commercialization of technologies.

Currently, Nestic holds the position of Director of Technology Commercialization and APEX SBIR/STTR Senior Consultant at Parallax Advanced Research. Dave works at the interface of academia, industry, and the government, accelerating innovation and developing groundbreaking ideas for government agencies and commercial markets.

Throughout their career, Nestic has been involved in various projects spanning a wide range of industries, including molecular biology, proteomics, industrial supplies, advanced energy, energy storage, advanced communications, more electric aircraft, UAVs, cyber security, and more.

Dave Nestic earned an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Economics, Accounting, Math, and Sciences from Lakeland Community College between 1976 and 1980. Later, from 1980 to 1983, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) at Ohio University. Lastly, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General at Capital University from 1995 to 1998.
