Jayson Smith is currently a mentor in the SDSU Social Work Mentor Program and the SDSU HMP Mentorship Program, while also serving as a fellow at the Parent Institute for Quality Education, where the focus is on consulting for program delivery to parents. Recent experience includes a social work internship at Serving Seniors and a counseling role at Progress Foundation, where involvement was with a residential program for adults with serious mental health disorders. Previous positions include a childcare worker/counselor at Greenacre Homes and School, and various research roles at the University of California, including Principal Investigator at Areyto Lab and roles in the BEAN Lab and STEP LAB. Education includes pursuing a Dual Master's in Health Management and Policy and Community Development at San Diego State University, complemented by an Honors Psychology program at UC Irvine and an AA in Psychology from Santa Rosa Junior College.
