Dr. Alexander Meier has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and development. Starting in 2015, they worked as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer IOSB, where they conducted research projects for situation recognition in smart homes and applied machine learning models to infer Activities of Daily Live (ADL) from sensor data.In 2016, they joined Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg as a Doctoral Candidate, where they developed a Bayesian machine learning model for time series data and published three articles in peer-reviewed data science journals. Concurrently, they also worked as a Visiting Researcher at The University of Auckland, where they analyzed scientific time series data related to climate and gravitational waves.In 2019, Dr. Meier joined SAP as a Developer, where they conducted major code refactoring and solved critical customer incidents in the area of Lease Accounting.In 2021, they moved to Tchibo as a Data Scientist, where they developed a deep learning model for forecasting customer demands and built scalable feature store pipelines on Google Cloud Dataflow.In 2023, Dr. Meier joined paretos as a Senior Data Scientist.

Dr. Alexander Meier has a background in Mathematical Statistics and Probability. Dr. Alexander earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2012. Dr. Alexander further pursued their education at KIT and received a Master of Science degree in Mathematics in 2015. From 2016 to 2018, they attended Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, where they obtained a Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) degree in Mathematical Statistics and Probability. In addition to their academic achievements, Dr. Meier has also obtained a certification as a Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer from Google in December 2022.
