Jose Antonio Castillo

Jose Antonio Castillo has extensive experience in maritime safety and technical roles. Currently serving as an Inspector de Seguridad Marítima at the Ministerio de Movilidad since January 2021, Castillo also holds a position as a Port State Control Officer with the Paris MoU on Port State Control since January 2013. Castillo's background includes a long-standing role as a Reserve Sergeant with the Reservistas Voluntarios de las FFAA de España since April 2010 and previous positions at the Ministerio de Fomento as Inspector de Seguridad Marítima and Jefe de Distrito Marítimo. Additionally, Castillo worked as a technician at Raymarine, Mastervolt, and Azimut Electronics from September 2002 to January 2009. Castillo holds degrees in Licenciatura Marina Civil from Facultad de Ciencias Náuticas Cádiz and Universidad de Cádiz, completed between 1997 and 2002.
