Philip McDonald, MD (He/Him)

CEO and Founder of PrimeTime Radiology; Dr. Philip McDonald is a board certified physician in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He is a native of Mount Vernon, NY and comes from a family of Jamaican descent and has been taught, by his parents, from a young age, to always keep Christ as the nucleus of his life.

Dr. McDonald, received his M.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine on a four year full tuition academic scholarship. Dr. McDonald completed his residency in Radiology at Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health and went on to complete his Fellowship in Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine Radiology at Duke University Medical Center. He specializes in Sports Medicine Imaging and Spine Imaging and is also highly proficient in the interpretation of general radiology disciplines using MRI, CT, X-Ray, and Ultrasound; including Obstetric Ultrasound.

Dr. McDonald is the Lead Clinical Advisor for the Sports Medicine division of DocPanel.com; providing expert primary and secondary opinions around the world. He independently contracts with several radiology companies and serves as Lead Clinical Advisor for multiple divisions, some of which include professional sports teams belonging to the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Dr. McDonald also goes by the endearing moniker Dr X due to his highly sought after skill set of using his “X-Ray Vision” with accuracy and precision in diagnosing injuries for pro athletes. He has also served as the medical analyst for NBA TV, a division of Turner Sports, where he gave television analysis for injured players of the likes of Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming, Derrick Rose and Stephen Curry as well as other notable injured professional basketball players.

Dr. X, seeks to maximize and multiply all his God given talents and has created and written a cartoon currently in development entitled “Invincibles 4:13”. He is also the founder and chairman of a Christian ministry called Ignite-LA which is geared toward community outreach through spiritual growth and development.

Phil currently resides in Los Angeles, California and is married to the love of his life, the American singer / songwriter, pianist, and actress, Sheléa Melody McDonald. His favorite hobby is basketball and he can be spotted on the court playing with his team in competitive basketball leagues in the Los Angeles area.
