Kimberly Meyers, PhD, is a skilled researcher specializing in neurodegeneration, with a particular focus on Parkinson's disease. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Barrow Neurological Institute, Kimberly has conducted significant research on the neurobiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases and has successfully secured $200,000 in grant funding for independent research projects. Kimberly also holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship for Basic Research with the Parkinson's Foundation, aimed at developing therapies and investigating the neuroprotective effects of the enzyme ACMSD in animal models. With a PhD in Neuroscience from Arizona State University and previous research experience at the University of Arizona and USDA, Kimberly has a solid foundation in both neuropsychiatry and biochemistry, highlighted by a thesis on genetic and environmental interactions in neuropsychiatric disorders.
