Gretchen Blake-Cox has extensive experience in quality and clinical effectiveness roles. Gretchen Blake-Cox is currently the Vice President of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness at Parkland Health. Prior to this, they served as the Network Vice President of Quality, Patient Safety, and Medical Staff Affairs at St. Luke's Hospital. Gretchen Blake-Cox also held the position of Corporate VP of Quality, Patient Safety, and Chief Compliance Officer at Landmark Hospitals / Landmark Management Services. In addition, Gretchen has worked as the System Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention at Via Christi Health and as the Director of Quality, Risk Management, and Infection Prevention at Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital. Gretchen Blake-Cox began their career as a Senior Pharmaceutical Representative at GlaxoSmithKline and has also worked in various healthcare roles, including Clinical Practice Quality Improvement Specialist at Via Christi Health and Cardiovascular Cath Specialist in the Cath Lab at HCA Wesley Medical Center. Prior to their healthcare career, they worked as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic at Sedgwick County Government. Gretchen has a proven track record of leading and implementing quality improvement initiatives, ensuring patient safety, and meeting regulatory and accrediting standards.

Gretchen Blake-Cox holds a Masters of Science degree in Leadership - Strategic Planning from Southwestern College, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Gretchen Blake-Cox also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Quality Management - Statistical Process Control, LSS from the same college, completing their studies from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained an Associate of Science degree in Pre-hospital Advanced Life Support from Associates Sc - MICT Paramedic between 1990 and 1992.

Gretchen Blake-Cox has further certifications as an Advisory Board Member for Women's Leadership Studies from Missouri State University since 2021, Executive in Quality Leadership from Southwestern College since 2013, and as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the International Six Sigma Institute™.
