Bianca Kratt

Born and raised in Quebec City, Bianca has been practicing law, in both English and French, since 2002. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Barreau du Québec. She is also a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation.

Bianca serves as Practice Group Leader of the Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Finance group for the last several years in Calgary.

She provides legal advice to a broad range of institutional and corporate clients on commercial matters, including sales, leasing, development, and acquisition of real estate, business and shares. Bianca advises clients on real property acquisitions and dispositions, commercial real estate financing transactions and commercial leasing. She also advises on a wide variety of corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions including commercial transactions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and negotiation and preparation of various commercial agreements integral to a business including shareholders agreements.

Bianca has also represented lenders and borrowers in financing and secured transactions for several years. She acts regularly for institutional and other lenders in documenting secured transactions and has acted for borrowers in a broad range of industries. Her experience ranges from real estate and other asset-based lending, to project and operating financing. She also acts for developers of commercial, residential, industrial and condominium projects.

Bianca is an engaging and supportive mentor to the Firm’s students, associates and junior partners with a view to helping to enhance their ongoing professional development and legal excellence.

In addition to managing a diverse practice, Bianca has served as an Executive Member of the Canadian Bar Association, Alberta Branch, since 2019 and in that capacity she is the President. Bianca is a regular presenter for the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), and also a presenter in commercial leasing at the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC). Bianca is heavily involved in community projects, dedicating her time to community volunteer with the Association of French Speaking Lawyers of Alberta (AJEFA) aimed at promoting access to justice in French, and with the International Association of Women Judges, Canadian Chapter, to raise awareness to inequalities women face in the legal profession and to empower women in leadership roles.
