Jesse Zelisko

Jesse started at Parlee McLaws in 2021 as an Articling Student and following his articles he joined the firm as an Associate in 2022. Jesse has a corporate and commercial focused practice with a particular emphasis on real estate, corporate and commercial law.

Jesse’s passion in law lies with legal drafting and advising clients on corporate and commercial matters. Whether working with a large commercial client, or a young couple purchasing their first home, Jesse thrives on working with his clients to develop creative and practical solutions to meet their needs.

During his articles, Jesse has worked on a wide range of matters, ranging from share purchase transactions and incorporations for commercial clients, to the purchase and sale of residential properties by individuals. Jesse has also obtained valuable experience working with condominiums, advising condominium boards on matters such as updates to condominium bylaws, and governance issues. In addition to these areas, Jesse maintains an interest in intellectual property, specifically trademarks. During the course of Jesse’s articles, he gained experience with trademark prosecution and trademark opposition proceedings, in addition to experience working on general intellectual property litigation.

Throughout his entire law degree, Jesse is proud to say he worked as a caseworker at Student Legal Assistance, a clinic at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law that is devoted to providing legal information and representation to low income Calgarians with respect to criminal, civil, and family law matters before the Provincial Court. Prior to law school, Jesse worked for an immigration non-profit that assists foreign trained professionals obtain their respective Canadian designations, and as a research assistant in the Yukon studying food security.
