Kristen Shlakman M.ed.

Kristen Shlakman, M.Ed., has extensive experience in education and coaching, currently serving as a Language Arts Teacher at Marietta City Schools since June 2016. Additionally, Kristen has been a tutor at Parliament Tutors since March 2015 and previously worked as a 7th Grade English Teacher at the School City of Hammond. Kristen also held the position of Head Coach for the Gavit High School Girls Swimming team, earning the GLAC Coach of the Year award in 2016. With teaching experience at La Petite Academy and coaching experience with the South Bend Mercenaries Rugby team, Kristen has demonstrated a commitment to student development and athletics. Kristen's editorial skills were honed as a Writer and Copy Editor for The Forum at Valparaiso University School of Law and as a Senior Staff Writer and Editor for the Capital University Chimes. Kristen holds a Master of Education in English Language and Literature from Indiana University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Capital University.
