Ryan Sharkey

Ryan Sharkey has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Ryan started their career in 2017 as a Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they conducted research on Human Robot Interactions. Ryan then worked as a Software Developer at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, focusing on developing interfaces using Java and IBM Integration Bus for application integration within the bank.

In 2021, Ryan joined BlockFi as a Software Engineer, working on the Security & Fraud team to develop an application that automated client withdrawals and prevented fraud, resulting in a significant reduction in losses. During their time at BlockFi, they gained experience in AWS CDK, Python, and Go.

Ryan then transitioned to Relay Payments in 2023 as a Software Engineer, specializing in full-stack development. Ryan worked on Rest API endpoints using Go for the backend and React for creating an admin web portal UI on the frontend.

Finally, Ryan joined Parthean in 2023 and quickly progressed to become the Head of Engineering. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Software Engineer responsible for architecting and implementing the backend for the product. Ryan also designed the cloud infrastructure supporting the backend.

Ryan Sharkey completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Information Science at Cornell University from 2014 to 2018.
