Channell Barbour

Chief Of Staff/vice President For Strategic Partnerships at Partners for Rural Impact

Channell Barbour, PhD has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. From November 2005 to February 2016, they worked at IU Southeast as an Associate Director of Campus Life, overseeing budgeting, Greek Life, orientation, and assessments. Channell also held positions as the director of the Student Organization Involvement Center and advisor to various student groups. From April 2016 to July 2019, they served as the Associate Dean of Student Life at Berea College, and from July 2019 to May 2023, they were the VP for Student Life. Currently, they are the Chief of Staff/Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at Partners for Rural Impact since May 2023.

Channell Barbour, PhD, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from Berea College, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. From 1992 to 1994, they pursued a Masters in Public Administration at West Virginia University. Finally, Channell earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Indiana State University, having attended from 2008 to 2014.
