Cadonna Dory has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Cadonna currently serves as the Vice President of Communications at Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, a position they began in April 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as the Director of Strategic Communications at Children's Defense Fund for a year and four months, from January 2022 to April 2023. From May 2018 to January 2022, Cadonna held the position of Director of Communications at Children's Defense Fund-California. Before that, they worked as the Communications Manager at Children's Defense Fund-CA from October 2015 to May 2018.
Cadonna's career started in 2002 as an Education Reporter for The Press-Enterprise, where they worked for several years. Cadonna also had a brief stint as a Writer at The Associated Press from August 1998 to December 2001. Alongside their journalism roles, Cadonna gained experience in the field of communications and programs at Social Action Partners, where they took on different positions, including Director of Programs & Communications and Communications/Media Coordinator. Cadonna began their career as a Project Assistant at the University of Southern California in January 2010 and worked as an Editor/Writer at USC School of Social Work from September 2008 to January 2010.
Cadonna Dory has a Master of Communication Management degree with a focus on Strategic and Marketing Communication from the University of Southern California. Prior to pursuing their master's degree, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Arizona State University.
