Anuroop Sharma began their work experience as a Research Intern at McMaster University in 2006. Anuroop continued their research work at McMaster University as a Research Intern in 2007, optimizing sampling patterns for multidimensional T2 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Experiments. In 2008, as a Research Intern at McMaster University, they worked on implementing a Sequential Trust Region Strategy for solving Non-Linear Semi-Definite Programming Problems. In 2009, they served as a Research Intern at Optimal Computational Algorithms, Inc., where they worked on efficient evaluation of single and double precision mathematical acceleration subsystem (MASS) library functions for IBM POWER7 and Cell Broadband engines.

From 2009 to 2010, Anuroop worked as a Research Assistant at McMaster University, proposing new hardware instructions for the efficient evaluation of elementary functions for general-purpose processors with fused multiply-accumulate instructions. During this time, they also worked as a Software Developer at Optimal Computational Algorithms, Inc., developing a domain-specific language embedded in Haskell using the Code Constructing User Tool (Coconut) framework and implementing large-scale optimization algorithms based on Quasi-Newton and Gauss Seidel methods.

In 2012, they joined Citi as a Software Developer, where they designed and developed scalable messaging systems for Citi's Global Credit Market operations. Anuroop improved the stability of the HBase and Hadoop clusters and implemented services for querying data from HBase storage.

From 2013 to 2015, Anuroop worked at Amazon as a Software Development Engineer, designing and developing a web application for hand-held scanners used by Amazon Distribution Center associates. Anuroop was responsible for replacing legacy C++ applications with service-oriented architecture using Amazon's proprietary REST and Spring MVC framework.

Since 2015, Anuroop has been with PartsAvatar.ca, where they co-founded the company and served as the CTO. Anuroop built and led a team responsible for expanding the e-commerce store's market segments and competing with industry giants. Anuroop also developed a unique marketing plan to drive eight-figure sales and oversaw the business's profitability in the automotive sector with a vast product range and vehicle fitments.

Anuroop Sharma obtained a Bachelor and Master of Technology in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, from 2003 to 2008. Anuroop later pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science at McMaster University from 2009 to 2010.
