John Capela, CPA, MBA has extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. John currently serves as the SVP Finance & Chief Accounting Officer at Party City, a leading party goods supplier with retail operations and global distribution. Prior to this, they held roles at ITT Inc., where they were the Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer, responsible for overseeing a large team across multiple countries. John also served as the Executive Vice President - Chief Accounting Officer & Corporate Controller at Toys"R"Us, a global specialty retailer, where they supervised various departments including SEC Reporting, Internal Reporting, and General Accounting. John's career started at PwC, where they worked as an Audit Senior, and they also gained experience at Toys"R"Us and Arthur Anderson in earlier roles. John holds a CPA and MBA.

John Capela, CPA, MBA has a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Accounting from Montclair State University. John also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a double concentration in Finance and Management from the same university. John has obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the NJ State Board of Accountancy. John has completed the Next Generation CFO Academy and Next Generation CFO Academy II programs at Deloitte University. John is also pursuing the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification.
