Chief Operating Officer at Pathios Therapeutics

Shelley Cook has a diverse work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Shelley currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at M:M Bio, which they began in September 2022. Prior to this, they were also a Chief Operating Officer at Pathios Therapeutics, starting in November 2022. In January 2023, they joined ThirtyFiveBio as their Chief Operating Officer.

Shelley has also held various roles at Sitryx, including Head of Operations and Alliance Manager from January 2021 to July 2022, and Director of Operations and Alliance Manager from May 2019 to January 2021. During their time at Sitryx, they were involved in a significant deal with Eli Lilly and Company, resulting in a $60M exclusive global licensing and research collaboration, with potential development milestones up to $820M.

Prior to Sitryx, Shelley worked at Immunocore as a Business Operations Manager for Infectious Diseases from August 2016 to April 2019. Shelley played a key role in the growth and development of the Infectious Disease Unit, overseeing operational, scientific, and strategic support.

Before their roles in the biopharmaceutical industry, Shelley worked as a Consultant Healthcare Analyst and Consultant Technology Analyst at Peel Hunt from September 2013 to March 2016. Shelley also had research positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Natural History Museum from February 2012 to June 2013 and as a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wellcome Trust from November 2007 to February 2012.

Shelley Cook has a strong educational background in the field of science. Shelley obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford from 1995 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Integrative Bioscience from the same institution, which they completed from 2000 to 2001. Shelley's academic journey continued as they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Emerging Tropical Viruses at the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2005.

In addition to their academic achievements, Shelley Cook also holds various certifications in different areas. Shelley obtained the Professional Scrum™ with Kanban Certification from Scrum.org in October 2022. In August 2015, they acquired the Level 3 Certificate in Securities and the Level 3 Certificate in UK Financial Regulation from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Additionally, Shelley has certifications in the fitness industry, including the Level 3 Personal Trainer certification and the Level 2 Fitness Instructing certification, both obtained from QCF Training in March 2015 and July 2012, respectively. Shelley also holds the Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work from QCF Training, obtained in July 2015.
